![]() ![]() An exceptional property with antique furnishings, beautiful grounds and first-class service. ![]() My son and his wife arranged for us to spend two nights at this beautiful hotel. There is a marvellous history to the place including how the house. Staff were attentive without being intrusive. We enjoyed the tasting menu and wine flight on the Saturday ( with a harpist playing in the background) but also sampled the classic menu which was excellent. Think the owners may be Beatles' fans as I noticed some of the background music in the public areas featured the Fab Four. The decor was beautiful and I particularly was delighted to see a signed, limited edition John Lennon print. We read this as we enjoyed a tipple of madeira and fresh fruit, all as part of the room's amenities. Our very own personalised newspaper told the story of the house and shared ideas on where to visit. We stayed in the Penrhyn room overlooking the back of the hotel. I'd been to see the Downton film that week and it was like a re-run but real life experience for this M'lady. They took our suitcases, parked the car and invited us into the lounge where we were treated to a glass of champagne (in the most dainty champagne saucers). An exceptional property with antique furnishings, beautiful grounds and first-class service.Īs we drove along the gravel drive and pulled up in front of the hotel, the staff came out to greet us.
